五四運動後十年，中國的政治、社會發生急遽的變化，學生運動風起雲湧，但相關的學術研究，至今仍深感不足。「一代的政治培養出一代的學運，一代的學運反映出一代的政治」，從這階段的學生運動史，一方面可以看出富理想色彩的學生「以極無責任之人，辦極有責任之事」，學運不能不遭遇到很大的挫折；而另一方面新興具有動員性的政黨，逐步與學生接近，終於使學生運動變成了運動學生。二○年代學生運動的歷史或許可以提供當代學運一些啟示。
